Practical Life Exercises

These activities promote self-help skills such as dressing, pouring, spooning, wiping and introduce social etiquette that can develop focus, concentration, coordination, self-reliance and self-discipline.

Sensorial Materials

Sensorial education allows children to make comparisons and find similarities in sizes, shapes, colours, textures, smells, tastes and sounds. Children work on sensorial activities that help them develop their intellect, enhance memory and increase the power of observation.

Language

Using the phonetic reading approach, a strong foundation in reading and writing is developed. Children learn by using a multi-sensory method to recognise sounds and shapes of the alphabet. As children become fluent readers and writers, they can embark on creative writing and reading.

Cultural Studies: Geography, History, Botany & Zoology

Subjects such as Geography, History and Science help children discover the planet Earth, their world and the diversity in people and their cultures. Children may better appreciate the beauty in nature, social harmony, tolerance and respect for multi-cultures as well as significance of past events that help shape the world we live in.

Creative Arts

We present masterpieces in music and visual arts to children. Our musical programme revolves around playing various musical instruments as well as rhythmic movement. In visual arts, children participate in art and craft activities as well as attend lessons on comparing realism with abstract art. Children express their talents in speech and drama as well as storytelling.

Play and Learning

At Children’s Discovery House, we do all sorts of play such as messy play, creative play, active play, physical play and more to make learning fun especially for toddlers! Play provides opportunities for active engagement and interaction with peers and surrounding. On top of that, play promotes healthy brain development and well-being.
