Half-Day Montessori Programme

(1) Practical Life

Promote self-help skills through a variety of activities, including elementary exercises (holding a tray, threading beads, pegging clothes, using a funnel, sponging water), personal care (grooming, dressing, preparing food), grace and courtesy (walking around a mat, sitting on a chair, knocking on the door), care of the environment (wiping tables, sweeping floors, folding napkins, caring for indoor plants), and more.

(2) Sensorial Development

Develop visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and gustatory senses by comparing and identifying similarities between objects. Enhance visual senses through exploring dimensions, colors, shapes, and patterns. Develop auditory senses using sound cylinders and bells. Improve tactile senses by exploring textures, weights, and temperatures. Strengthen smell and taste through activities that engage the olfactory and gustatory senses.

(3) Language

Young children learn sounds and letters through hand-eye coordination, practical activities, and sensory experiences. Sensorial education enables children to make comparisons and recognize similarities in sizes, shapes, colors, textures, smells, tastes, and sounds. These activities enhance their intellect, memory, and observational skills.

We use a phonetic reading approach to develop a strong foundation in reading and writing. Through a multi-sensory method, children learn to recognize the sounds and shapes of the alphabet, then they create words, and thereafter sentences. As they become fluent readers and writers, they can explore creative writing and reading.

(4) Mathematics

Montessori practical life and sensorial activities provide indirect preparation for mathematics. Concrete materials help introduce abstract concepts, offering a sequential understanding of mathematical ideas that prepare children for more advanced learning.

(5) Cultural Studies

Cultural studies in geography, history, botany, and zoology help children discover the planet, their world, and the diversity of people and cultures. They learn to appreciate nature, social harmony, tolerance, respect for multiculturalism, and the significance of historical events that shape our world.

(6) Creative Arts

Through musical instruments, art and craft materials, and speech and drama classes, we encourage children to showcase their skills and talents.
